I am sure you are assuming that a Spring Break trip in Mexico will involve the beach, leisurely sunbathing, swimming and eating.
Well, except for the beach, sunbathing and swimming, you are right on. We will be eating authentic rice and beans (which we all like by the way) in fellow church members homes in Torreon, Mexico.
Our family is in a group of 28 others from their individual families who are going to Mexico to build a house for a family in that city during the day. We will also be giving firesides and teaching workshops on anything from music to sewing to making jewelry with beads etc. at night.
We will be sleeping at the homes of the members, just think, we don't even speak Spanish, very well.
We have many hours of preparation before we leave. This stake in Torreon is needful of white shirts & ties and dresses for all sizes. We are collecting these items to take in our suitcases which we will be purchasing at the DI and leaving in Mexico.
If any of you can help us with these items, (just check your closets) then let me know. We are so excited.

I am SO excited!:)
Wow! Things like this excite me. I want to hear about ALL the details when your family comes back! Maybe an FHE at your house to show the Martin clan your experience? If I can't come, I DEFINITELY want to be in on the show.
I wonder how I could get some clothes to you? Let me know if you are coming down this way, and I will do the same. Sounds amazing!
I always knew you were one of the smart ones! I'm going to copy you and put this on my blog, too. Great way to get donations for our trip! And by the way, I'm glad we get to go with you guys and I'm even more glad that you are my very smart friend!
Hi Shelley. I'll look through Curt's closet and pull out some stuff. I'll figure out a way to get them to you. Sounds like a really fabulous spring break!
